It is with great regret that we announce that life member and current Vice-President Gordon passed away on December 12th, 2016 after a long illness. Gordon joined Footscray Swimming Club in 1946 and remained a staunch and active member for the rest of his life, holding multiple positions on the committee over the years, including multiple terms as President. Together with his wife Val, he started a family that has been instrumental in the success of the club over 3 generations. Gordon also made an important contribution to the sport of water polo in Victoria through his coaching and refereeing services.

Gordon was the life and soul of the club and will be greatly missed by all.
